You are beauty-full.

You are beauty-full.

I believe you are full of goodness and light, shadows and mysteries, all intricately woven into your unique spirit.

Sometimes you forget this truth when you start comparing yourself to others—to friends, family, and even strangers on the internet.

I’m here to remind you that you are full to the brim with beauty. ⠀

It radiates from your heart and shows up in your smile and the kindness of the words that cross your lips. ⠀

You may not feel good enough, but you are. ⠀

You may feel broken, but you aren’t. ⠀

You are simply growing. ⠀

When you devote yourself to feeding your soul with love and kindness, beauty will inevitably bloom. ⠀

What I’ve learned on my journey to self-love is the healing starts with me and my willingness to be a witness to my pain and my joy. ⠀

Today, I’d like invite you to try the mirror work practice below with me.⠀

Sit in front of the mirror, place your hand on your heart and take a few deep breaths. Now I want you to look deeply into your eyes. Don’t look as if you’re checking your hair or makeup—instead slow down and sink into your gaze. Stay soft and open, taking in whatever it is inside you that needs to be seen. It may feel uncomfortable and that’s ok. Stay with your gaze for at least 30 seconds, a full minute it if you can. As you’re looking you might want to respond to what you’re seeing, hearing or feeling. It could be something like:⠀

I’m proud of you⠀

I miss you⠀

I love your laugh⠀

You are enough⠀

I love you⠀

I’m sorry for how I’ve been speaking to you⠀

I see how hard you’re trying⠀

I appreciate you⠀

You are beautiful⠀

Whatever it is, I invite you to be a witness to it—to take in the tenderness and vulnerability being shared. Don’t judge it or try to change it—just be with it. To finish, you can close your eyes and bow your head in acknowledgement of your practice.⠀

If you’d like to share your experience with me, I’d love to hear your story and encourage you on your journey. You can send me a message here.
